June is known for 2 events above: World Environment Day on June 5th and World Refugee Day on June 20th. During 17-20 June of this year, all COERR field offices organized various activities to celebrate these two events such as the Information Board displaying environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture and food production, livelihood skills, animal raising and livelihood activities. Moreover there were cultural performances by refugee children, stage performance of clothes and supplies made from recycled materials, plant growing. Refugees visiting the livelihood skills training booth would learn about making household product, e.g. candles, dish washing liquids, clothes, balm and buying low price organic vegetables from the model farmers’ shop. Those visiting agriculture booth and answering quiz about agriculture would receive seedlings and tools to start their own gardening at home.
